Holden Roberto
Holden Roberto was a politician Angolan, born the January 12th 1923 in São El Salvador (become Mbanza-Kongo) and died the August 2nd 2007 with Luanda.
Regarded as one of the fathers of the independence of Angola, it founds in the years 1950 the Union of the populations of Angola a nationalist movement which transforms into 1961 in National front of release of Angola (FNLA). In April 1975, he is signatory of the peace agreements with the Portugal consuisant with the independence of the Angola in November 1975.
It then engages its movement in the civil war supported by the Zaire, the France and the the United States and with dimensions of the National union for the total independence of Angola (Unita) against the Popular liberation movement of Angola (MPLA), supported by the countries of Eastern Europe. In 1976, it is constrained to be exiled in France and with the Zaire.
It returns in Angola in 1991 before taking part in the general elections of 1992.
