History of Manipur
History of the principality
The fort of Kangla was built by king Khagemba in 1632. It had overcome the Chinese who had attacked Manipur since the Eastern border and it had acquired, seems it, the technique of construction of the brick walls of some of the prisoners. This fort was destroyed in 1891 during the British invasion .
Under the reign of king Paamheiba, Manipur was converted with the Hindouisme and the old texts in Manipuri were destroyed.
Leaders
According to the Cheitharol Kumbaba, the royal chronicles of Manipour, this country was directed by king meitei starting from 33 Manipur. The first kings have too long periods of reigns to be reliable: they are interpolations of the author.
