Historical novel
A historical novel is a Romance which takes for backdrop an episode (sometimes major) of the Histoire, it generally mixes with the events - real and fictitious characters. The historical novel appeared fine 17th century with as principal authors Madam de Lafayette and César Vichard de Saint-Réal. The historical novel endeavors to appear probable compared to historical truth and the author is generally based on an important documentation.
Most famous study on the subject is the Historical novel , of the communist critic Hungarian Georg Lukacs.
