Hippolyte carry-crown ( Ἱππόλυτος στεφανοφόρος , Hippólytos stephanophóros ) (-428) is a tragedy of the Greek playwright Euripide. This part had initially been represented with Athens in a different shape, which Sénèque in the tragedy regains that he writes on the same subject. Phèdre did itself there the consent of its love with Hippolyte, and Thésée did not return to consult the Oracle de Delphes, but of the Hells where it had accompanied Pirithoüs.
Summary
- In a prolog in worms iambic, Aphrodite announces the incestueux love of Phèdre and the death of Hippolyte, which must avenge it for the preference of the young prince hunter for Artémis.
- Ghost of hunting with his companions, Hippolyte celebrates Artémis and refuses to honor the goddess with the love, because it acts of night.
- resting on its nurse, Phèdre, devoured by a mysterious evil, advances to see light of day. It starts to be delirious, wanting to be in the mountains, to continue the animals and to drive a tank in the stage devoted to Artémis. She then asks the nurse to cover the face of a veil to him and is locked up in the palate.

- the name of Hippolyte escapes Phèdre. The nurse believes initially that its mistress hates in him the son of another woman. But Phèdre finishes by him acknowledging its love. In front of the desire to die that its mistress expresses, the nurse, who had initially scandalized herself, will reveal the passion of Phèdre with Hippolyte. The young man bursts in invectives. Phèdre then decides to lose Hippolyte and is hung.
- Thésée returns and finds in the hands of Phèdre dead of the shelves which show his/her son of rape.
- Hippolyte is justified and withdrawn in exile, cursed by his/her father and dedicated to the revenge on Poséidon.
