Hippolyte Gomot

Hippolyte Gomot , of his complete name Pierre, Auguste, Hippolyte Gomot , born on October 12th 1838 with Riom and deceased on November 8th 1927 with Paris, was a Politician French, écrivan and local historian of the area riomoise.

He was Magistrat of profession.

He was fine Minister for agriculture 1885 - beginning 1886.

Political career

  • It was appointed of the Puy-de-Dôme (Arrondissement of Riom) of 1881 with 1889. It thus carried out two constituents; he was re-elected in 1885.
  • It was Minister for agriculture very little time, of November 9th 1885 at January 7th 1886.

It was elected for the first time at this station on January 4th, 1891;
Re-elected on January 28th, 1900;
Re-elected on January 3rd, 1909;
Re-elected on January 11th, 1920;
Fine of mandate on January 8th, 1927 (it was not represented).

Local historian

It was interested in the local history of the area riomoise from where it was elected. Its goal was to publish a “historical Trilogie” with what it called “the three symbols of the power of the Middle Ages”:
  • the Monastery: history of the royal abbey of Mozat , 1872;
  • the Castle-extremely: History of the feudal castle of Tournoël , 1881;
  • the city: in fact the medieval quoted of Riom, project which will never succeed.

Homage

A street of Riom bears its name. It was called previously " street of Mozat " since it acted under the Old Mode of one of the doors of the town of Riom which dealt with the road leading to the village of Mozac.
