Hereroland

The Hereroland was a autonomous Bantoustan located in the East of the Namibia between 1970 and 1989. It gathered African of the Ethnie Herero and the official language was the herero.

History
The Bantustan of Hereroland was created October 2nd 1968 following the Commission Report Odendaal of 1964 and becomes autonomous the July 26th 1970.It is reinstated in Namibia in May 1989 in the Namibian areas of Omaheke and Otjozondjupa.
Geography
Hereroland was located in the East of Namibia, at the border with the Botswana, in the North of the Kalahari Desert .It had a surface of 59 997 km ² for a population of approximately 44 000 people in 1964, mainly of Hereros.
