Henri-Marie Dubreil de Pontbriand

Mgr Henri-Marie Dubreil de Pontbriand (January 1709 - June 8th, 1760) was Archevêque of Quebec of 1741 until its death.

Born in January 1709 with Valves, in Brittany, resulting from a considerable family, was only 32 years old when it was selected to succeed Mgr of Auberivière. It was then Large-vicar, canon of Saint-Malo and doctor of Sorbonne.

It obtained its bubbles of Benoît XIV on March 6th, 1741, and was crowned with Paris, on April 9th of the same year by Mgr Gaspard-Guillaume de Vintimille, Archevêque of Paris. It arrived at Quebec on August 17th, 1741, and took possession of its seat the 30 of the same month.

Mgr of Pontbriand died in Montreal on June 8th, 1760 the 51 years and 5 months old and was buried in the parish church of the place, the 10 of the same month.
