In the Greek Mythology, Hellen (in Greek old Ἕλλην / Héllên ) is the son of Zeus and Dorippé (or according to other versions of Deucalion and Pyrrha). King of Phthie, in Thessalie, he is the hero éponyme of Hellènes, name that are given the Greek . Its name is also given to continental Greece, Hellade ( Ἑλλάς / Hellás ), term which will cover then whole Greece.

Husband of the nymph Orséis, it has of them three wire, Éole, Doros and Xouthos. Éole (which should not be confused with the god of the Winds) will become the mythical ancestor of the Éoliens, and Doros that of the Doriens. Lastly, Xouthos will have two children, Achaïos and Ion, ancestors of the Achaens and the Ioniens.
