Helen Elizabeth Clark (born the February 26th 1950 with Hamilton) is a New Zealand political personality , member of the Workers party.

Political career

It occupies the functions of Prime Minister of the New Zealand since October 5th 1999. She was re-elected in 2002 then in 2005. She is the second woman to occupy this station in this country, having succeeded Jenny Shipley. To the head of the workers party, Helen Clark leads a policy progressist. Sometimes criticized for its appearance, it stresses that " the problem in policy, it is that one pays often more attention to the way in which the women are equipped than with than they disent". In 2006, it is classified like the 20th most powerful woman in the world by the magazine Forbes. In 2007, it is classified 38e.

Private life

Her husband is Peter Davis, sociologist and professor at the university of Auckland .
