Heimia

Heimia is a kind of two or three species of Arbuste S of the family of the Lythraceae, originating in America.

Distribution

It pushes south of the the United States to the Argentine.

Use

Traditional use

Heimia salicifolia (Kunth) Link is one of these species. It is also known under the name of Sinicuichi and is the subject of a ritual use and is famous to be a Enthéogène and a auditive Hallucinogène.

The incompletely dried sheets are crushed in water and the juice obtained ferments with the sun. The drink which results from it causes dizzy spell S, a somnolent Euphorie, a deterioration of time and space, auditive hallucinations. This drink is used in the ritual ones to live again of the former events with a high degree of accuracy.
