The heavenly voices , or ethereal wave or ethereal goth in English (also called " sometimes; ethereal darkwave" , " ethereal music" or " fairy voices" , or " musics féeriques" or " éthérées" ) is a kind associated with the Gothic Musique and thus Rock by extension, even if the kind is undoubtedly more to bring to the neo-classic Gothic or closer to the Ambient. They are characterized by the prevalence of the tablecloths, often of the female choruses, and rhythmic very slow or absent. It is about a French-speaking term, the english-speaking using “ ethereal goth ”. One as speaks about “ dark wave ” but note as the ethereal is not inevitably carrying dark sonorities and environments and is on the contrary sometimes rather luminous (Example: Certain titles of Cocteau Twins, 17th Life or Ataraxia.)

These often lyric female choruses can be perceived like mystics by analogy with the choruses of the hymns. The texts are generally worked and treat medieval tales, Celtic folklore and other fantastic mythologies. The accompaniments marry instruments and modern technologies with traditional instruments.
