Heap (news agency)
Heap (ТелеграфноеагенствоСоветскогоСоюзаприкабинетеминистровСССР, ТАСС), of its complete name ITAR-TASS ( ИТАР-ТАСС ), is principal the News agency of Russia.
Description
In XXIe century, it is a company which produces every day 700 pages of news, just in lower part of its apogee during the Soviet era. It has 74 offices and agencies in Russia and in the other States of the Communauté of the independent States (CEI) and 65 offices in 62 foreign countries.
History
It is the July 4th 1904, at a meeting of the Ministers for Finance, interior and foreign affair Russian, that Tass is set up under the name of telegraphic Agence of Saint-Pétersbourg (ATSP). The purpose of it is to provide information policy, economic and any other information which could interest the public on Russia and the foreigner. It is on September 1st, 1904 that it begins officially its activities.
The August 19th 1914, one day after the town of Saint-Pétersbourg was famous in Pétrograd, the agency also changes name to become the telegraphic Agency of Pétrograd (ATP). The government of then issues that it is the only news agency of the State.
The September 7th 1918, ATP again changes name to become the News agency telegraphs Russian (APTR). And the July 25th 1925, it becomes the telegraphic Agency of the Soviet Union (or ТелеграфноеагентствоСоветскогоСоюза - Telegrafnoe agentstvo Sovetskogo Soiuza (HEAP)), by a decree of the Præsidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union.
During the Soviet era , Tass is the only information source of all the media present in Soviet Union.

Heap has offices and correspondents in 110 countries, with a publication day laborer of 750 pages of news, translated into 8 languages. She employs close to: 5000 people, of which approximately: 1000 Journalist S.
Into 1992, after the fall of the Soviet Union, its name changes to become ITAR-TASS (ITAR meaning Information Telegraph Agency off Russia , or in French “Arranges telegraphic information of Russia”).
It since became a State enterprise.
