Havana

Havana ( Spanish Habana in ) is the Capitale of Cuba and more the big city of the the Caribbean, with 2,2 million inhabitants. It is also capital provinces Ville of Havana and Havana .

Inheritance

Havana inherited much the colonial Architecture Spanish, and was classified like pertaining to the Patrimoine of humanity by UNESCO. It is also member of the Organization of the cities of the world heritage.

District of Vedado : it is the most modern sector and most active of the capital. One finds there the majority of the marketing activities and the principal ministries as well as the principal town halls.

History

The Conquistador Diego Velázquez de Cuéllar based the first city of Havana on the southern part of the island of Cuba in 1515, but with its current location in 1519 moved it.

Havana was in the beginning a port commercial, in a notch of the particularly favourable coast, (satellite image) and became the capital of the Spanish colony only in 1607, and consequently the Spanish port more attended Nouveau World. It was the ultimate stage for the Spanish ships of the road of the Indies which were turned over from there towards Europe.

Havana was burned by Boucanier S in 1538 and was plundered twice in 1553 and 1555. The Britanniques conquered it in 1762, but exchanged it against the Florida the following year. After having recovered the city, the Spanish made of it the city most strongly strengthened of Americas.

In the Years 1920, during the Prohibition with the the United States, Havana became the destination of predilection of American. The casino S and Nightclub S were legions there. But the majority were closed in 1959, at the time of the cuban revolution.
