Hartmann von Aue

Hartmann von Aue (towards 1170 - towards 1210) was a German Poète important with the Moyen-âge.

Hartmann von Aue (Owe, also Awe) was born in a noble family from Souabe, a Dienstmann (man of service) of the Sirs de Aue and probably took share with the Croisade of 1197 (or perhaps even as of 1189?). Nothing of more than him is known.

Gottfried von Strassburg mentions it in the Tristan around 1210 like alive. Its works Erec and Iwein show that it was subject to the influence of Chrétien of Troyes ( Érec and Énide and Yvain or the Knight with the lion ).
