Harold Robbins

Harold Robbins (May 21st 1916 - October 14th 1997) was an American writer.

Born in New York, it passed its childhood in a Orphelinat. Educated at the secondary school George-Washington, it occupied several employment after the end of its studies.

At the beginning of the Second world war, it loses its fortune and moves with Hollywood, where it worked with Universal Studios, initially like expeditionary, then as tallies of studio.

It was made a reputation as writer by publishing his autobiography and then by detailing the darker side of Hollywood. Several of its novels were adapted to the cinema. At one time, its books among were sold with the world.

Among its successes the best known ones is the Ambitious , a book freely inspired by the life of Howard Hughes which makes travel the reader since the prosperity of the aircraft industry until the Hollywood glamor. The continuation, entitled The Raiders , appeared in 1995.

It spent much time in the Riviera and Monte Carlo until its death of a cardiorespiratory Insuffisance the October 14th 1997, at the 81 years age. It is buried with the cemetery of Forest Lawn to Cathedral City in California.

Since its death, several of its novels were completed under its feather by phantom writers. It has a star on the Allée from the celebrities of Hollywood.
