Hans Sotin

Hans Sotin (born the September 10th 1939 with Dortmund) is a low German, especially known for its scenic incarnations of Wagnerian roles (the King Marke, Hunding, Henri the Bird-catcher, the Landgrave, Pogner, Fafner and Gurnemanz). But it is also a very required Sarastro.

The singer, built forces some and equipped with a very full and mélodieuse voice though a little static, made its studies with the academy of Dortmund before beginning in 1962 with the opera from Essen. From 1964, he sang some time with the opera of Hamburg before beginning with the Festival from Bayreuth in 1972 and appearing on all the large scenes of the world. He is also a famous interpreter of crowned works of Bach.
