Haing S. Ngor (March 22nd 1940, Samrong Young, Kampuchea - February 25th 1996, Los Angeles, California) played in 1984 in the film the Tear ( The Killing Fields ) the role of Dith Pran, Journaliste off-set in the camps of work of the mode Khmer Rouge directed iron hand by Pol Pot.
The scenario of film is very largely inspired by its history: doctor, it itself was off-set of 1975 with 1979.
In 1988 it wrote Haing Ngor: In Cambodian Odyssey , telling its life under the Khmer Rouge mode.
He was assassinated in 1996, at the time of an aggression which turned badly.
