HP-41
HP-41 is a programmable Calculatrice marketed by Hewlett Packard in 1979.
For the time, it was revolutionist since it had a posting alphanumeric LCD, many accessories (read/write drive of magnetic cards, optical reader, Imprimante, cassette of storage, divides in network, etc) and of 4 slots of extensions making it possible to insert the accessories (such as an infra-red module to connect itself to the printer which left thereafter or a module HP it (interface buckles of current) allowing to connect itself to all the peripherals HP it of the range) or of the chart-memories including/understanding of many formulas Mathématiques and of the programs. HP made it possible moreover to develop and market its own plug-ins.
Its mode of Logique of calculation was the reversed Polish Notation which enabled him to pile up the intermediate results and to facilitate the passage of arguments to the subroutines.
It comprised however in its initial version a small quantity of memory, which could be wide by modules. HP also offered versions CV and CX, more powerful.
It at the time was very much used by the Engineer S and the financial ones.
The quick change of microprocessing and the programmable computers in BASIC condemned this model which remains however one of the large stakes of progress as regards Programmation.
It gave moreover place to the creation of many clubs of impassioned, especially as of the moment when one succeeds in cracking his internal code and to reach the registers of the machine thus. This special programming method was called " synthetic programming".
Its principal competitor was the Texas Instruments TI-59.
