HDB

HDB are social housing created by the State Singapore IEN after the independence of the country, in 1965.

These housing are generally private properties. The State, with the many recent crises, contributed to the construction of hundreds of buildings with an aim of providing to the population the possibility of acquiring a real estate has a reasonable price. It was thus an economic and social springboard for all the Singaporeans.

Today the large majority of the inhabitants of the island resides in this kind of building. However, the act of property is temporary: after 70 years of occupation, the owner must sell (or yield according to the cases) his good.
