HC Davos

HC Davos (shortened HCD ) is a club of Hockey of the town of Davos in Suisse.

It evolves/moves in National league has and is pulled by Arno Del Curto since 1996. Its president is Gion Duri Cantieni.

The team evolves/moves since 1979 with the Eisstadion Davos , recently famous Vaillant Arena. The colors of the club are those of the town of Davos, the yellow and blue.

History of the club

Creation

In 1918, the Davos Hockey-Club is born thanks to Doctor Kurt Wüst as a club of formation and young people. The team of hockey is created in 1921. Directed and taken in hand by Doctor P. Müller, it takes part as of 1922 in Ligue Suisse of hockey, founded in 1909. It is in 1923 that is created the Coupe Spengler by Doctor Carl Spengler, tournament world of the clubs organized with Davos since this date and recognized like more the hurdy-gurdy competition of clubs in Europe.

Domination

In 1926, only five years after its creation, the club gains its first championship of Switzerland and dominates these years 1930 by gaining nine other titles in ten years. The club is initially relegated as a National league B in 1989 then in First league (the third division) in 1990. In 1992, Davos goes up in League B then in League At the following year.

Nowadays

In 2002, Davos gains its 16th championship.

In 2005, Davos counts in its rows of the high-speed motorboats of the National league of hockey such as Rick Nash, Joe Thornton and Niklas Hagman. Indeed these players “benefit” from the lockout in LNH to come to furnish the rows with the European formations. Davos succeeds in gaining the title with these players, Thornton finishing even the season better marker of the club.

The following year will be more difficult, but taken along by Alexandre Daigle, old great hope of LNH, Davos the championship in 2007 gains.

Davos remains today the most titrated team of the Switzerland, but also emblématique.
