Gyeongsang

The Gyeongsang is one of old the Eight provinces of Korea, during the Dynastie Chosŏn. It was located at the south-east of the Korea and its capital was Daegu.

Partition of Gyeongsang

In 1896, Andong, Daegu and the districts north of Dongnae are assembled to form the province of the Gyeongsang of North. The Jinju and the southern districts of Dongnae are assembled to form the province of the Gyeongsang of the South. Gyeongsang of North and the South form today part of the South Korea.
