Guillaume Stanislas Marey-Monge (born with Nights the March 17th 1796, † 1863), general and politician French, grandson of Gaspard Monge,
It entered in 1814 to the Polytechnic school and took share with it with the defense of Paris in 1815.
In 1817 the fired pupils were allowed to pass from the examinations after which Mr. Stanislas Marey was named raises second lieutenant of the artillery School and the genious, the January 19th left there 1820, the first of its promotion, appointed lieutenant as a second in 3rd of artillery with horse, he was captain executive officer in 1826 and executive officer with the 2nd regiment.
Until 1830 it dealt with various research relative to its weapon, and was made known advantageously by memories which fixed the attention of the artillery Committee.
In 1830, attached to the staff of the general Lahitte, it took part in all the actions of this first countryside.
The October 21st it was charged to organize the indigenous bodies (hunters Algérie NS) and was named for this purpose major; it took share with the first Expédition of Médéah under the orders of the marshal Clauzel, and at the second directed by the general Berthezène. In July 1831, major, Marey was distinguished particularly with the Combat from Ouara and was wounded there; it was decorated the September 14th. In 1832 the Algerian hunters were versed in the 1st regiment of the hunters of Africa. In this new body, Marey took part in a great number of businesses, and its name is quoted twice with the day order of the army. It was especially pointed out with the Combat of Boufarich, under the general of Fondous, which proposed it for the rank of lieutenant-colonel; this rank to him was conferred the September 17th 1834, and one charged it with the orgarnisation of the regular Spahi S of Algiers, of the auxiliary spahis and the general command of all the Arab tribes of the surroundings of Algiers with the title of Aga.
The Marey lieutenant-colonel exerted the critical and broken functions of Algiers under the general governors, the count of Erlon, the Clauzel marshal and the count Charles-Marie Denys de Damrémont; November 10th 1834 with the April 22nd 1837, it obtained its resignation then and was named colonel of the regular spahis. As chief of police it covered glory on hundred occasions, accepted the cross of officer the August 9th 1835.
Colonel Marey, of return in France in March 1839, was sent to the camp of the troops Piedmont eases, close to Turin, and was placed at the head of the 1st regiment of cuirassiers. He had spent nine years in Africa.
Named after little Brigadier general time , it was promoted the June 12th 1848 with the Major general rank of and commander of the Légion of honor.
It orders then 13th the division military (Clermont-Ferrand), which includes/understands ten departments, and joins together with this command that of the troops of Ve subdivision (Puy-de-Dôme).
Candidate with the legislative elections with Beaune in 1831 and 1846, it lost face François Mauguin, but obtained the seat of deputy under the Second Empire.
