Guillaume Corbet
Guillaume Corbet (born the July 17th 1779 in Ireland - died August 12th 1842) was a general French 19th century.
Biography
Naturalized French the December 27th 1814, Guillaume Corbet already on this date had made twenty campaigns in the rows of the French Army and had obtained its ranks and decorations on the battle fields.
Put in non-activity under the Restoration, it took again service at the time of the Expédition of Morée which it itself had advised with the government.
On its arrival in Greece, it was named governor of the fortresses of the Messénie, then of Nauplie, where most dreadful anarchy reigned. The Corbet general could restore the order. The French garrison of Argos having been attacked one day by the bands of Colocotroni and other chiefs sold with the Russia, Corbet there went at once, beat the Pallikare S and killed 300 men to them.
With its departure for the France, the primacies of the Greece offered a saber of honor and an address to him.
The Corbet general was named then with the command of the Département of the Apple-brandy.
Guillaume Corbet was Commandeur of the Legion of honor and decorates with the Greek Ordre of the Saver.
