Grecanico dorato
The grecanico dorato is a Italian Cépage of white grapes.
Origin and geographical distribution
It comes from the south of the Italy of the island of Sicily.In Sicily, it is classified recommended in province of Agrigente, Palermo and Trapani. It is authorized in province of Catane and Syracuse.
It is cultivated almost exclusively in the province of Trapani close to Marsala.
In 1990, it covered in Italy 4.545 ha.
It is classified auxiliary type of vine in DOC. Contea di Sclafani Grecanico, Contea di Sclafani bianco, Contessa Entellina Grecanico, Delia Nivolelli Grecanico, Delia Nivolelli bianco, Delia Nivolelli bianco frizzante, Delia Nivolelli spumante, Menfi Grecanico, Menfi bianco, Santa Margherita di Belice Grecanico, Santa Margherita di Belice Nero D' Avola, Santa Margherita di Belice bianco, Sciacca Grecanico and Sciacca bianco.

The bunches are average and the bays are of intermediate size. The bunch is cylindrical, winged and long. The production is good.It is often vinified in assembly with the type of vines Catarratto bianco common, Catarratto bianco lucido and Grillo.
