Grant Fuhr
Grant S. Fuhr (born the September 28th 1962), is a former Canadian player professional of Hockey. It evolved/moved at the station of goalkeeper and allowed in 2003 with the Temple of is re-elected hockey.
Career in club
Mongrel from his/her parents, Fuhr was adopted baby and raised with Spruce Grove in Alberta. At the 17 years age, it joined the Western Hockey League and equips it with the Cougars of Victoria (today Cougars of Prince George).After two seasons spent in the frankness, it is chosen by the Oilers d' Edmonton during the Repêchage of entry in the LNH 1981. The same year, the Padres de San Diego selected it with the fishing out of the Major Ligue of Baseball. Fuhr evolved/moved with the position of Receveur, but chose a professional path with hockey.
It remains in Oilers during 10 seasons and gains there with 5 recoveries the Coupe Stanley. During the Season LNH 1986-87, it gains 40 matches and is selected to play during the match of stars of the league. The following year, its first and alone Trophée Vézina is given to him. At the end of the season, the league suspends it because of problems of dependences to illicit substances.
Oilers which wanted to rebuild a new team with beginning of the year 1990 exchange Wayne Gretzky with the Kings of Los Angeles then Fuhr with the Maple Leafs of Toronto (Saison LNH 1991-92).
There remains only one season there before leaving to play for the Sabers of Buffalo. A scandal bursts in the town of Buffalo when one refuses the right of access with a club to him (Transit Valley Country Club). The called upon reason seems to be its skin color.
Fuhr remains nevertheless with the Sabers until in 1995, where it joined the Kings of Los Angeles. At this period of its career, much think that the most beautiful years of the guard are behind him and he plays only fourteen recovery during the season.
The Blues of Saint-Louis give again to him cepedant its chance and it carries out during the Saison LNH 1995-96 a single performance of 79 matches (the greatest number of matches played by a goalkeeper in one season). During its last season in LNH at the Flames of Calgary he becomes the 6th guard of the history to exceed the 400 victories. There however, it carries out this season only 5 victories for 13 defeats. Little time afterwards, it takes its retirement.
The July 22nd 2004, it is engaged by the Coyotes of Phoenix as a trainer of the guards of the frankness at the sides from his/her friend and former fellow-member Wayne Gretzky. It occupied already a similar station within the Flames of Calgary for the seasons 2000-01 and 2001-02.
International career
Fuhr was selected to play within the Équipe of Canada of hockey for the Coupe Canada of 1984 but did not have much time of play. In the same way it is selected in 1987. It then carries out better times of play and beautiful performances. It shows its qualities of stops during increasingly tended and intense matches.

- 403 null victories , 295 defeats, 114 macths with an average of 3,38 goals boxed by matches and 25 washings.
- Participation in the matches of the stars of the league of: 1982,1984,1985,1986 (elected official better player of the match), 1988 and 1989.
Introduction to the Temple of re-elected hockey
Grant Fuhr allowed with the Temple of was re-elected hockey the November 2nd 2003. The articles of newspapers reporting the subject insisted largely on the fact that he was then the first Canadian player of African origin to being allowed with the Temple. Fuhr even found to him that one did of it a little too much since it had never to complain about racist discrimination during his career and it was raised by a white Canadian family.
