Basara ( BASARA ) is a Manga of Yumi Tamura initially published between September 1990 and June 1998 by the Shogakukan. It was partly adapted in cartoon, in the form of OAV of thirteen episodes with the title the Legend of Basara .
The manga, under its version connected in 27 volumes, is published in French with the editions Kana, and in English by Viz Media.
Summary
The history proceeds in XXIIIe century with the Japan. The country was devastated at the XXe century by a catastrophe whose true nature is not mentioned. Tokyo was submerged by a Raz-de-marée which devastated it; the west of the country became a Désert… a royal family directs the country: the gold king, which controls the capital, and his four sons, which deal with the provinces. The black king reigns on north, the blue king on the area of Seiran, the red king on the east, and the white king preferred to withdraw himself in the Montagne S of Hiei. Such is the general context.One day, in the territory under domination of the red king, the woman of the chief of the village of Byakko is confined of Jumeau X: a girl and a boy. A Prophète announces that one of them will be the star which will save the country.
Twelve years are passed, the boy was called Tatara, of the name of a star, because all believe that it is him “the elected child”. He is initiated with the trade of chief, he prepares the Révolution… while his/her Sarasa little sister grows in her shade. His/her father being too occupied with his brother, it is Nagui (doctor and prophet) and Kaku which deal with it teaching him the use of the plants. The day of their birthday, with the Ceremony celebrating the accession in the majority of his brother, his friend Maa is killed in the place of Tatara by the red king…
It took three years for the red tyrant to discover that it had been mistaken in target. New attack, during which much villager is assassinated, of which their chief and Tatara. Sarasa then decides to take the identity and the Destin of his/her brother and saves his village which takes again courage, believer who the elected child is always in life. Sarasa swears to do everything to be avenged for king Rouge and decides to tighten a trap with its army. Its plan will function, but result in to destroy its village.
In a source of little attended warm water, it becomes acquainted with Shuri with which it falls in love. However, Shuri bears another name. King Rouge.
