Gouvy

Gouvy (in Walloon Gouvi ) is a common French-speaking of Belgium located in Walloon region in the Province of Luxembourg.

At January 1st 2002, the commune counted 4.719 inhabitants divided into 2  357 Man S and 2  362 Femme S. Her surface is of 165,11 km ².

Each section is made up of several hamlets:
  • Beho : Beho, Deiffelt, Ourthe, Wathermal

  • Bovigny (communal house): Bovigny, Cierreux, Courtil, Halconreux, Honvelez, Rogery
  • Cherain: Brisy, Cherain, Rettigny - Renglez, Sterpigny
  • Limerlé: Cherapont, Gouvy (its name in 1977 gave to the new commune), Limerlé, Steinbach
  • Montleban: Baclain, Halonru, Langlire, Lomré, Montleban

Culture

Every year, in August, takes place the Jazz & Blues Festival of Gouvy, with the Farm of Madelonne.
