Good-in-Chablais

Good-in-Chablais is a common French, located in the department of the Haute-Savoie, in the province of the Chablais, and the area the Rhone-Alps. The commune belongs to the Communauté of communes of Bas-Chablais.

Geography

The commune of Good-in-Chablais is a commune of bottom Chablais, located at 15km in the Western South of Thonon-the-Baths.

Etymology

According to Henry Suter, the word " bons" would refer to the relief melts or would derive from the word francoprovençal " bond" ( round shaft rejecting by intervals of water and mud, temporary mud and water discharge system which emerges at the time of the accelerated snow melt, when the underground layers are saturated ).

History

The commune of Goods, by order of the prefect of May 11th, 1966 (OJ of June 26th, 1966), becomes Good-in-Chablais, absordant on the occasion the old communes of Brens and of Saint-Didier-in-Chablais.
