Golias (newspaper)

The Re-examined Golias , according to the name of a legendary bishop of the Middle Ages, is a publication claiming Christianisme, after being itself a long time claimed Catholicisme. She was however not recognized by the Conference of the Bishops of France.
The Golias review is particularly critical with respect to the ecclesiastical institution, and its slogan is “ the hinderer to believe in round ”. The currency of the review is a quotation of the cathare Belibaste: “Our road is not that of powerful, the kings and the bishops; none of them will know the shared savor of an onion at the edge of the way. ” The precise review on its site which the disciples of the known as GOLIAS were called " goliards" and were " clerks or laic in rupture of ban".
Two-monthly, it is published since 1985 with Villeurbanne (Lyons agglomeration). Its pulling would range between 12.000 and 15.000 specimens, including 8.000 subscribers (not of control on behalf of the OJD).
Leading line
Golias is a review of investigation and critical reflection on Catholicism. Written by Christians and pressed on a broad network made up of laic and priests, it delivers the information documented on the life of the Church. Golias wants to be also an instrument of research on the catholic tradition in the modern world.

History
Initially published by association " the goliards associés" with approximately 500 specimens, in the form of photocopy diffused in the surroundings of Lyon.
It becomes known at the national level following the success of the first edition of the " rogue's gallery of the évêques" in 1990, sold with 10.000 specimens.
In 1994 the editions Golias are founded.
In 1997 a marketing policy aiming at increasing the number of subscriber is installation. An agreement made with the diffuser Vilo, and a company is founded Golias limited liability company. In 1998 Golias is the subject of an official statement of the Conference bishops of France which wonders “ in which direction this review can claim under catholic ”
In 2002 Golias was put on line, with an open system of publication with moderation, which bring together approximately 800 registered authors, and an about sixty really active.
In 2005 the sale by Internet was installation to free itself from prohibited from sale of the publications in certain catholic bookstores.
In 2006 Golias created a weekly online news on Internet, put on line every Friday, with approximately 2000 daily connections, that is to say 60.000 readers each month
