Godefroy de Huy
Godefroy de Huy is a goldsmith mosan (born towards 1100 - died towards 1173).
Its workshop is distinguished at the same time in creation from mountings and the emaillery Champlevé E. It uses in its iconographic topics what will be one of the signs of recognition and identification of the artists mosans: subtle and suggestive play of the agreements between the Old Testament and the New Testament. The miniatures of the Bible of Floreffe offer an good example of it. Godefroy de Huy (or its workshop) is also the creator of the chief Reliquaire of the Pape Alexandre, preserved at the royal Musées of art and history to Brussels.
