Goblin (group)

Goblin is a mainly known progressive rock group to have composed the film musics of Dario Argento ( Shivers of the anguish (1975), Suspiria (1977)).

Biography

Influenced by Genesis and King Crimson , their first work was not success until they are called to replace the type-setter Giorgio Gaslini who, after a conflict with the realizer, Dario Argento, gave up the turning of the film the Shivers of the Anguish . It then changed the name of their group into Goblin and réécrirent most of the musical band of which the famous main theme. The film, like its original soundtrack, were an enormous success.

The group was altered then left an album instrumental Funk, Roller , which was a failure. Dario Argento then contacted them for the music of its film Suspiria . The unmatched sound, experimental and the odd voices since became legendary. Follow-up a Concept Album ( it Fantastico Viaggio Del Bagarozzo Mark ) then, in 1978, the original soundtrack of film of George Romero, Zombie .

In spite of their successes, other members of the groups left. The composition of the group was still modified, but this time, they had to fight to keep their credibility. What remained group continued to work on film musics. There was a reunification partial in 1982 for Tenebrae of Dario Argento, but not under the name Goblin : the members of the group were quoted separately. They since did not work any more together, but the republications of their film musics are sold still well, especially in Germany and with the Japan
