Biography
Go-Fukakusa becomes emperor in 1246, at the two years age, the abdication of his/her Go-Saga father, who begins then his reign of emperor withdrawn. In 1259, forced by Go-Saga, it abdicates in its turn, the fifteen years age, in favor of his/her young brother, the emperor Kameyama.
After the establishment of the emperor Go-Uda, Go-Fukasaka, via Saionji Sanekane, negotiates with the Bakufu so that his/her Hirohito son is named crown prince, which leads thereafter to a reign by alternation between the two lines of the Jimyōin-tō (descendants of Go-Fukakusa) and of the Daikakuji-tō (descendants of Kameyama).
In 1287, Hirohito goes up on the throne under the name of emperor Fushimi and Go-Fukakusa starts to reign as a withdrawn emperor, until in 1290 where he becomes monk and withdraws this position.
Its seventh wire, the imperial prince becoming Hisaaki, inter alia, the eighth Shogun of Kamakura, the position of the Jimyōin-tō line is only reinforced with it.
