Glyptodon

The glyptodon (or glyptodonte ) is a heavy Tatou giant in the two tons (of Xénarthre S or toothless) which lived during the Pléistocène in South America, on a surface of distribution which includes/understands current the Brésil, the Argentine and the Bolivia.

It is estimated that the glyptodon disappeared there is approximately: 10000 years with the arrival of the Man on the American continent.

According to certain research, the glyptodon lived in the savanna which recovered then, most of America. There are also traces of this gigantic Tatou in Central America (see the article Chimalhuacan) and in North America.
