Glenfiddich
Glenfiddich is a distilling located in the Speyside at Dufftown in Scotland. The name Glenfiddich decides with a hard CH (like a " R") as the word shelled log .
History
In 1886, William Grant founded Glenfiddich distilling with Dufftown in the valley Fiddich. The first bottles Glenfiddich whiskey were produced during Christmas 1887.
In the Sixties and Seventies, many small distillings and indépendentes were repurchased or fell in bankruptcy. To survive, W. Grant & Sons launched a campaign to promote the benefits of the individual whiskey malt. This strategy functioned and Glenfiddich is now the individual malt more sold with the world. It is sold in more than 180 countries, and accounts for approximately 20% of the sales of individual malt.
In 1957 the company commanca to bottle its whiskey in a triangular bottle. Later, W. Grant & Sons were the first with emblller their bottles in tubes and package gifts.
In 1969 Glenfiddich was the first distilling to open a center for the visitors.
W. Grant & Sons were also the first to recognize the importance of the stores taken the tax off for the spirits and to take advantage of these opportunities.
Whiskeys
All Glenfiddich distributed in the world result from official congestions.- Special Glenfiddich 12 years Reserve 40 (or 43?) %. It is the individual malt more sold with the world. Launched in 1963, it was the first individual malt sold apart from Scotland. In the beginning this version was bottled after 8 years of Maturation. In 1999 Glenfiddich took 4 years and became one 12 years of age. This version only accounts for with it 20% of the world malt sales individual.
