Gift James

Don James is a American Cadre working in the Video game for Nintendo off America. Like a key member of the team carried out by Howard Lincoln and Minoru Arakawa, James played a critical part in the reintroduction of the video game consoles in North America after the Krach of the videogame of 1983, when the Nintendo Entertainment System generated a rebirth of the video game at the end of the Années 1980.

After the collapse of Atari, Intellivision and Colecovision in 1983 and 1984, the press recognized that “the consoles of video game had died and that the electronic industry of play was a niche market which the retailers of general public should be unaware of”. Arakawa, Lincoln and James coordinated the new birth of the consoles which had to overcome this skepticism, clearing the way for Sega, Sony and Microsoft to rebuild a multi-billion dollar of industry.

James joined Nintendo off America in August 1981 and its employment with the company now covered more than 25 years. It was responsible for manufacture, the development of products and the design as well for plays of Borne of arcade as for plays of console.

James took part in the organization and the creation of the IDSA (ESA renamed later), and was a leader in the creation of the commercial exposure E3, more the great event in the world for industry of the video game. He always sat at the Advisory committee of the ESA.

He also helped to create ESRB, the organization of evaluation of the video games, and currently sat there at the Advisory committee. The system of evaluations was conceived in answer to the concern of the American Congress of Violence in connection with the contents in the video games which were inappropriate for younger players. James was a key character in the preserving approach of Nintendo vis-a-vis such contents of ripe play.

James was also a member of the board of directors of the Academy off Interactive Arts and Sciences since the beginning of the organization.
