Gian Alfonso Pacinotti

Gian Alfonso Pacinotti is an author of Cartoon of origin Italy nne born in 1963 with Pisa, more known under the name of Gipi . It was especially made known on this side of the Alps in 2005 with the publication of four of its works.

Biography

After a career in publicity, Gipi really launches out in the drawing and its first strips are published in the press ( Cuore , It Clandestino , Boxer etc) starting from 1994. He is illustrator for the Italian daily newspaper today Repubblica where he in particular illustrated the test of Alessandro Baricco, I Barbari ( the Barbarians ) prépublié by the newspaper. Its direction of the narration and the dynamism of its drawing is greeted unanimously and its albums, often preceded, meet success not only in Italy and France but also in Germany, Spain or with the the United States.

Its first publication published by Coconino Close in Italy was Extérieur Harms (in Italian Esterno Notte ), project of short stories for which he did not hope for any success. The album however gained several prices of which the Prix Micheluzzi with the festival Comicon of Naples in 2004 for its drawing.

In addition, it is also interested in the cinema with the realization of some short films and 2 feature-length films.
