Ghattas Khoury

Ghattas Khoury (* 1952 -) is a doctor and a politician Lebanon board.

Biography

After studies with Madrid and in Great Britain, he becomes professor in surgery at the American University of Beirut. In 2000, he was president about the doctors of the Lebanon when he was elected appointed Maronite of Beirut on the list of the former Prime Minister Rafic Hariri.

It was one of the personalities closest to Hariri and one of the pillars of the Running of the Future. Its name was also quoted like candidate with the Presidency of the Republic.

In 2005, whereas he is candidate for his re-election, he is withdrawn with the profit of Solange Gemayel, partner of the Current of the Future within the Alliance of March 14th.

Khoury is today one of the advisers closest to Saad Hariri and a spokesperson of the forces of March 14th. He was shown by his successor with the Order of the doctors, Mario Aoun (member of the Free patriotic current of the General Michel Aoun) of corruption, but justice bleached Khoury of these charges in 2007 (let us announce that the lawsuit is always in hand, and that justice in Lebanon is not totalment independent of the political interferences).
