Gerry German St

honourable the Gerry German St , C.P. (born the November 6th 1937) is a Canadian Political personality .

St Germain occupies several employment before launching out in policy, working as pilot for the royal Aviation of Canada, police officer (with Winnipeg then with Vancouver), real contractor, business man and poultry stockbreeder. Born with the Manitoba, he moves in Colombia-British.

A strong partisan tory, St German is parachuted by the Parti progressist-conservative in the district of Moody Mission-Port for a complementary election in 1983. St Germain is elected Député with the House of Commons of Canada at the time of this by-election which is held the same day as the election of Brian Mulroney.

St Germain represents the district of Moody Mission-Port (today late) until in 1988. In March 1988, German St is named with the Cabinet of Canada (the first Métis to be named there) as a minister of state for Transport and is later named minister of state for the forests.

After the limits of its district were changed to become the new district of Mission-Coquitlam, St German east demolishes at the time of the general elections of 1988. Of 1989 with 1995, he is president of the Party progressist-conservative of Canada. In June 1993, it is named with the Sénat of Canada right before the resignation of Mulroney as a Prime Minister of Canada.

In 1998, still progressist-conservative, German St explores the option of " the Alternative unie" , launched by the chief of the Left reformist Canada, Preston Manning, which was an attempt to link the line. In June 2000 it sits as an independent preserving senator and in October 2000 it becomes the first and single senator of the Canadian Alliance. Since Canadian Alliance formed the Official opposition with the House of Commons, German St affirms that it should be Leader of the Official opposition to the Senate; its arguments however are rejected by the president. At the request of the chief alliancist Stephen To grip, German St directs the negotiations to link Canadian Alliance and the Party progressist-conservative. When the two parties amalgamate in December 2003, German St sits as a senator of the Conservative party of Canada.

As a senator, German St represents the senatorial division of Langley-Pemberton-Whistler.
