Germanopratin

The adjective germanopratin is a referring adjective with Saint-Germain-of-Meadows, district of Paris. The Gentilé Germanopratin, Germanopratins, Germanopratine, Germanopratines designates the inhabitants of the district.

The term of erudite pace (with undoubtedly an ironic nuance ), and is formed on Latin Germanus , “Germain” and pratus , the “Pré”.

In the years which followed the Libération one spoke about the “germanopratins mediums” related to the “Existentialisme” (the word having ended up indicating a fashion and a lifestyle): the adjective and gentilé referring not only to the district and to the inhabitants of the district but also to those which spent the night there to have fun the festival there. Juliette Gréco most famous of these was accustomed.
