Georges Charensol

Georges Charensol is a journalist French, critical cinematographic, born the December 26th 1899 with Privas, deceased in Paris the May 15th 1995.

At the 16 years age, it leaves in clock making training of to Crest, then with Lyon and Paris where it is formed with the things of the Art. In 1918, it becomes acquainted with the medium of Lyonnais : Louis Touchagues, Henri Béraud, Marcel Achard, Henri Jeanson, Pierre Scize.

It enters in 1923 as sub-editor to Paris-Newspaper and attends Louis Aragon and Jacques Hébertot, director of the Théâtre of the Fields-Elysées. It meets Florent Fels and takes part in its review Alive Art . It enters in 1925 as sub-editor to the Nouvelles Arts persons under the direction of Maurice Martin of Gard.

Cofounder in 1926 of the Price Renaudot which crowns inter alia Louis Aragon, Marcel Aymé and Louis-Ferdinand Céline, it leaves it in 1984. He becomes acquainted with the painters Chagall, Rouault, Kisling, Pascin, Gromaire, Vlaminck, Derain and of the merchant-patron Ambroise Vollard. He meets Rene Clair which becomes a large friend and turns like appear in the film : Entracte for the ballet Relâche of the Swedish Ballets creates in 1924 by Picabia and Erik Satie.

In 1962, it leaves the drafting as a chief of the Nouvelles Arts persons then the chronicle cinema with the disappearance of the newspaper in 1984. He collaborates then in the Event of Thursday .
