Georg August Goldfuss

Georg August Goldfuss is a paleontologist and a German zoologist , born the April 18th 1782 with Thurnau close to Bayreuth and dead the October 2nd 1848 with Bonn.

It makes its studies with Erlangen where it receives its doctorate in 1804. It teaches there the Zoologie starting from 1818. Later, it obtains the pulpit of zoology and Minéralogie of the Université of Bonn. Assisted by the count Georg Graf zu Münster (1776-1844), it makes appear Petrefacta Germaniae (1826-1844), an important work describing the Fossile S of Invertébré S of Germany. But only the parts describing the sponge S, the corals, the Crinoïde S, the sea urchin S and part of the Mollusque S appear. ----
