- July 24th: Frederic Barberousse and the pope Alexandre III signs the peace of Venice devoting the authority of the pope, who grants a broad forgiveness to the schismatics. Barberousse gives up its antipape and admits Alexandre III but continuous to control the episcopal elections in Germany and refuses to return to papacy the heritage Mathilde of Tuscany.
