Geng Wu
Geng Wu was a Chinese civil officer under the rows of the lord of war Han Fu at the time of the end of the Dynastie Han in ancient China.
Biography
In year 191, occupying the functions of chief-clerk, he criticized Han Fu after this one had suggested yielding the control of the province of Ji to Yuan Shao, following the threat which Gongsun Zan represented. He does not succeed in however making it change idea and when Yuan Shao approached the town of Ye, he tried with Guan Chun, swords with the hand, to dissuade several officers to join this last. He failed however in this attempt and had to let them go. Yuan Shao made carry out Geng Wu.
Its character in the novel
In the novel Histoire of the Three kingdoms writes by Luo Guanzhong at the 14th century, the version of the facts is somewhat modified. Geng Wu and its accomplice Guan Chun try to assassinate Yuan Shao when this last enters in Ye. Whereas it is on the point of stabbing Yuan Shao, it is made kill instantaneously by Yan Liang, which with Wen Chou, prevents the assassination of their lord Yuan Shao.
