General mutual company of state education

First mutual health French, the General mutual company of State education ensures the social protection obligatory and/or complementary to more than 3 million people. It was founded in 1946.

It has a 17.000 voluntary present network on the ground, as well as the 9000 paid ones.

Complementary health

Major actor of the world of health, social protection and education, it leads many research actions, of prevention and education to health.

The MGEN is dedicated to the personnel of State education, Youth and the Sports, Research and the Culture. MGEN Filia created in partnership with MAIF is opened with all people.

A characteristic of the complementary health of the MGEN is that the contribution is proportional to the wages. This mechanism makes it possible to carry out a redistribution between ranks and thus creates a system of solidarity.

Management of sanitary institutions and social

Moreover the MGEN manages 33 sanitary institutions and medico-social: medical private clinics, psychiatric hospitals, health centres, health care centres of continuation and readjustment, old people's homes which are opened with all the members of National Insurance Scheme.

Partnerships

The MGEN is member of CCOMCEN (Coordination committee of Works Mutualists and Co-operatives of State education), association gathering the structures of the social economy related to education.

The MGEN created the ADOSEN, an association specialized in the promotion of health.

In 2006, the MGEN, the Maif, the Macif and group it Savings bank installation Serena, a service of assistance to residence.
