Gathering for the unit and peace

The Gathering for the unit and peace (RUP) is a political party Senegal board.

History

The party obtains its legal recognition on August 8th 2000.

At the time of the legislative elections of 2001, the RUP belongs to the CAPE 21, a coalition favorable by the presidential majority.

Orientation

The party is close to President Abdoulaye Wade.

Its declared objectives are “to develop the unit, solidarity, the direction of the division and peace to make of them levers of economic development, social and cultural of Senegal; to maintain the relations of frank collaboration and co-operation and the international institutions and all the people enthusiast peace, in order to make of Senegal a model in the concert of the modern nations; to fight the famine, poverty and misery in order to ensure the interior peace of each citizen”.

Its electorate is mainly composed women.

Its colors are the yellow and the green

Organization

The seat of the party is with Louga.

Its General secretary is Amadou Moctar Ndiaye, Lance sergeant of the Policemen in retirement.
