Ganden Tripa
Ganden Tripa (" holder of the throne of Ganden") is the title of the spiritual leader of the school Gelugpa of the Bouddhisme Tibetan, of which the temporal chief, called Dalai Lama, control surface Tibet since the XVIIe century (government in exile since 1959). Dalai Lama, political authority, delegate the spiritual powers to a LAMA which it selects on the basis of examination; Ganden Tripa is thus not a line of reincarnation. As Ganden Tripa are not appointed for life, they are more numerous than Dalai Lama (101 against 14). I Tsongkhapa (1357 - 1419), founder of Gelugpa, or its successor, Gyaltsab I, is regarded as first Ganden Tripa. In January 2003, the Gouvernement Tibetan in exile named in the capacity as 101e Ganden Tripa Loungri Namgyél Rinpoché, which lives in Paris where he teaches Buddhism within the framework of the association Thar Deu Ling which he founded in 1980 shortly after his arrival in France. The 100e Ganden Tripa, Lobsang Nyingma Rinpoché resides like the 14th Dalaï Lama at Dharamsala.
