Gambier

The gambier or to gambir ( Uncaria to gambir ) is a climbing plant woody tropical areas of Southeast Asia, of the family of the Rubiacées.
Use
The extract drawn from the sheets and the stems of the gambier is used to aromatize the Bétel to be chewed, to tan the Cuir and like Teinture. The gambier is also a medicinal Plante with the properties Tonique S and astringent which one uses to treat, inter alia, the Brûlure S, the Diarrhée, the Toux, the evils of throat and the Ulcère S. the plant contains Tannic acid and Catéchine.
