Galochère
Galochère also called the “Monument of shot”, is a monument in French memory resistant of the Second world war.
History
June 22nd 1944, four young men were carried out by the Germans in this isolated career, close to the Cop-on-Sarthe. These four resistant belonged to the maquis of Trun. A few days later, on June 30th, they are fifteen resistant maquis of Courcerault and Mortagne-with-Pole which will be shot at the same place.Today, a stele commemorative in Granite of the Cop-on-Sarthe is in the middle of this old career, pointing out the names of each one of shot. Each execution post is recalled by five Balustre S carved in the granite. The pit where the bodies were is surrounded by edges and is regularly flowered.
