Gabriel García Moreno

Gabriel García Moreno (Guayaquil, December 24th 1821 - Quito, August 6th 1875) was twice president of the Ecuador (1861-1865 and 1869-1875). Enthusiastic catholic, it devoted his country to the Sacred Heart in 1873 and was assassinated in 1875. He died by pronouncing these words: " God does not die! "
