Biography
French general, commander of the royal and military Order of Saint-Louis, wire of Gabriel-César de Rougé (1 {{er}} count de Rougé) and of Marie of the Wood of Ferté. At the 11 years age, it entered the military career, at 19 years, it was named Colonel because of his exceptional bravery at the time of the Bataille of Mahon, against the British troops with Minorque in the Mediterranean. Two years later, he married the Princesse Marie Anne Christiane Joséphine of Croÿ-Harbor, girl of the Duc Louis Ferdinand Joseph of Croÿ - Harbor, Prince of the Saint Empire and Feld-Marschall, and of the princess Marie Louise of Montmorency - Luxembourg, without posterity.
He took part in many battles with the head of sound Régiment of Red. In 1763, it acquired of the marquisat of Cholet, to which it devoted from now on all its spare time and all its fortune to improve the infrastructure of this city, and to develop the trade to with it, inter alia thanks to regular fairs. Cholet became thus a modern city for the time, and an active economic center. It made transform most of the city, which since named a place of the name of its benefactor.
